What type of production do you do? 

SMG is a full service production company. We shoot, write, edit and post-produce promotional and broadcast content. We take our clients ideas and create custom content beginning with a concept and follow it through to completion.

We are also available to provide DP, ENG or live camera services.

What type of equipment do you use?

We shoot award-winning video in ALL formats. We specialize in broadcast quality HDCam, using a Sony F900/3 considered the most versatile and sought after camera in the industry. Additionally, we are equipped to shoot in DVCam, Betacamsp, HDV, and XDCamEX. We edit in full 1920x1080 HD using Avid Media Composer Adrenaline in frame rates ranging from 24p to 1080/60i. SMG has three fully functional edit suites designed for both off-line and on-line editing.

Have you shot news?

Keven is an experienced tv news photographer, winning more than 150 awards during his 20 year career. In addition to general news, national and international travel, Strehle has extensive experience as a "live camera" for sporting events, engineering live shots and was a sideline photographer for the Seattle Seahawks for four years.

Our experience in news created our philosophy "production values at the speed of news," a tremendous benefit to our clients and our way to get an incredible product in the quickest and least expensive manner.

What are your day rates?

There is a wide array of rates depending on the chosen format, project and discipline. So the short answer is, there is no short answer. We try to give our clients what they need, within their pre-determined budget, while meeting the highest standards of the broadcast industry.

Some projects are not suitable for SMG but we like to have frank discussions with potential clients to see if we are right for one another. As a way to protect our potential clients, we will not accept a job if we cannot meet those aforementioned standards. If you have a better offer from another company, we are happy to negotiate terms.

Typically, Keven and crew will operate a full scale production in HDCam at $1500.00 for a half-day and $2200-$2500 US for a ten hour shoot day, not including travel.

It's important to note that rarely do we shoot and just hand off the tapes. This rate is well thought out and makes the production process easier for our clients giving them a firm budget, avoiding overages such as OT, encoding, and other delivery related issues.

Any content editing that is needed will be billed at 150.00 an hour, rate includes edit suite fees.

What does SMG look for when taking on new projects/clients?

We are great at what we do and we look for clients and projects that meet or exceed our own award-winning standards. We limit the number of clients/projects we accept so that we can achieve tremendous results for our clients.

We look for inspiration in everything we do and feel that element is an integral element to producing content that will captivate and inspire your potential clients. Stretching ourselves too thin would counter our goals and jeopardize our values.
